How this small #BiryaniEatery Biryani By Kilo start up grew revenue from Rs 86 Lakh to 48 Cr in just 4 years.

FEATURING : BIRYANI BY KILO
THE STORY : OVERVIEW
Founded by Kaushik Roy and Vishal Jindal in 2015 , Gurugram - based Biryani by kilo aims to grow 150 plus outlets across India in the next four years and also aspires to expand to international destinations. Khichdi may be India's best comfort home food but when it comes to quest down your hunger ' Biryani ' certainly has no competition.
THE INITIAL STEPS
With the technology making inroads and the vast development in the food business , Kaushik Roy and Vishal Jindal realised that cloud kitchens could be the future of this oft-ordered dish. The duo in no time launched Gurugram based food start up Biryani by Kilo ( BBK) in 2015 with a vision and dream in mind to create a globally succesful food brand.
SUCCESS MANTRA BEHIND THE GROWTH
Unlike most of the biryani serving joints who believe in 'bulk produce' , Biryani by kilo aims at cooking 'dum fresh' biryani for every individual order without comprising even a bit in their food practices and quality and deliver the briyani in 'handi' to each and every customer. To enhance the rich lip smacking flavours the duo also sends earthen 'angeethis' with each pot of biryani in order to preserve the smokey flavour and aroma of the spices used in the rice.
BBK also delivers Nizami dishes like kebabs , kormas , and phirni. This strategy of serving dum fresh biryani has immensely worked out for them.
" Biryani is a part of India's heritage . The versatile and complete meal has many variants - Hyderabadi , Lucknowi , Bengali and more and caters very well to delivery. BBK has around 40 outlets across 20 cities in India currently and we are growing very fast ," says Kaushik. The start up has since then streamlined technology and sourcing in each city for rice , meat vegetables , and spices. It works with almost 100 suppliers who provide them efficient knowledge on what is being sold at its outlets. The founders plan to use the same method and technology to expand up in the next three years and also go overseas. Their story is indeed a great doze of motivation for us! Kudos to this duo!
