Picturing the the lady along with the conversation we lately with her.
We interviewed this young lady Entrepreneur who is daring enough to manage it up all alone with her creative hacks . Let's see what she has to share with you today :
Q1. How did it start?
It all started when I was working with Hawkins Pressure Cooker as an Advertising Officer. I had a really good time at Hawkins, and enjoyed every bit of it in Sales, maybe because I enjoyed the field job more perhaps. The advertising was fun too, but it started getting very hectic and monotonous for me. I felt somewhere I am getting stuck in between what I really want to do and what I am supposed to do.
When I decided to resign, I knew it won’t be a cakewalk going forward. I wanted to pursue something related to my passion, but to make it into a profession, I had to get a diploma. I never imagined being back to school, starting from scratch at the age of 32. As a keen student at an interior design school, I started developing and discovering my deepest flair of creating meaningful designs. This was the beginning of the journey to be….
Q2. Initial Steps.
I started my journey by being an intern at an interior design firm in Bangalore around 2015. After working there for 6 months I realized that I have a lot of untapped potential which wasn’t harnessed to its fullest. Positive customer testimonials and delivering beyond ordinary encouraged me to start thinking of setting up something small of my own. Hence, I embarked on the entrepreneurial journey.
Q3. Struggles & Challenges.
Setting up a startup midst fierce competition, establishing a reliable name which consumers could trust and relate to, was amongst the biggest early phase challenges. The transition from a well settled corporate life to a work from home start up, setting up a vendor ecosystem – contractors, laborers, carpenters, karigars etc and then dealing with them, spending those long hours at site/s – were some of the hard hitting ground realities that I wasn’t prepared for. From setting up a project based team, to understanding margins, accounting, marketing, customer demands, garnering those early orders which slowly started flowing in from friends and family are days that are now cherished and can’t be forgotten. Yes, there were days and moments where I felt like giving up, but each order and each design that I created, confidence grew brick by brick!
Q4. Turning Point.
My turning point was when I delivered my first project, none other than creating a co-working café for a big FMCG firm at IIT, Roorkee. Needless to say the competition was immense. The first “YES” from a customer paved way for many more to come.
Q5. Future Plans.
I plan to make “Rustic Hues” a national brand synonymous to rustic and dated interior designs. Belonging to the blue city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan; I want to bring its culture, vibe, heritage as an essence in my designs. Be it the use of varied colors, handicrafts, textures, patterns or out of box interior arrangements. I also intend setting up a chain of handicrafts studio café which would be best in class, a walk-in experience milestone and reflective of international standards which would cater end to end consumer requirements on setting up a beautiful residential or commercial space.
Q6. Mantra of Success.
I believe I am yet to reach the pinnacle of my success. The best is definitely yet to come! However, would like to thank my parents, my husband, friends and family for their continued support, guidance and inputs.
Her work will leave you in wonder as she tries to put in her best every time she gets a new task aligned or a new project in hand.
Kudos to the spirit ? more power to you ?
